ALL THE WAY examines what happens when a group of totally normal people is confronted with a situation that sends their lives and routines spinning out of control. As the film opens, the two main characters, a driver (Xiao Wang) and a beautician (Molly) meet on the road.
At the same time, several sub-plots are also unfolding. Two grifters, are filling their truck with useless bricks to scam unsuspecting small businessmen… “Old Zhang”, a police lieutenant who has been on the force for over thirty years without major success of advancement, is getting drunk with the head of the local TV station in an attempt to find a job for his daughter… “Brother Dragon” a Chinese “snake head”, is contemplating thee gains from an illicit transaction in ancient Chinese coins that is about to take place…
A brutal robbery throws off the routines and draws all the above characters into a complicated and chaotic story line. All of the characters are unwillingly dragged forward towards a conflict that will test their resolve to go ALL THE WAY.
